assiduous efforts
Diaspora, the word itself emulates a dichotomy ,a dilemma. Bright career, youthful zeal, comfortable income douse the long existing emotional bonds, family ties and peer groups. Thus one begins considering options of migrating abroad.ABROAD,the word itsef is an A,B,to theROAD walking on whose corridors one is vaguely convinced of ones decision. An honest effort of self reliance sometimes seems funny. Standing in awe of induction into a new domain one feels an incessant need an assiduous need to remain connected to ones roots. We live in a constant diasporic existence where we want to slough off the dross of culture, traditions foreign to us,at the same time we consider ourself to be a part of the vied haves. I remmember a relative of mine who lived in U.K.from past twenty years telling her daughters to shun hassels of getting along with mosaic cultures, contrary to her strict adherence of marrying in ones own cult. To be continued......
